HTI is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers.
Our system administrator seeks to ensure that the up-time, performance, resources, and security of the computers meet the needs of the users, without exceeding the budget.
To meet these needs, our system administrator may acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software; automate routine tasks; write computer programs; troubleshoot; train and/or supervise staff; and provide technical support.
The duties of our system administrator are wide-ranging, and vary widely from one organization to another. Sysadmins are usually charged with installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. Other duties may include scripting or light programming, project management for systems-related projects.
